Congratulations to Cindy Krupp, 2017 winner of the Elizabeth Schatzi Wood Award. This award is given to the woman, in the Far West region, who has, through efforts in ski club, council, region, national or international activities, made a decisive contribution to skiing during either the past year or in a prior year.
Congratulations to Bonnie West, LA Council webmaster for receiving first place in the Council website awards. The Outstanding Web Site Award is given to the Council whose communication tools are judged best based on layout, content, usefulness, and navigation.
Congratulations to Catherine Ohl of Pacific Rim Alliance for Outstanding Club, Outstanding Publication and Outstanding Website and Gordon Cardona of The Unrecables for Outstanding Website. These awards are given to the Club whose communication tools are judged best based on layout, content, usefulness, and navigation.
We are proud that Jane Gutierrez is the 2017 Far West Outstanding Woman of the Year. Each year at the Snow Gala and Outstanding Man and Woman is chosen based on their activities at the club, council, and Far West level. The club submits their candidates who then complete a resume of their activities. The Council Man and Woman then represent LAC at the Far West Convention.
Congratulations to Todd Hood, 2017 recepient of the 2017 Far West President's Award. The Presidentís Award is given to the individual who the President of FWSA feels has done the most to advance the immediate goals of the Association during the previous year.
Congratulations to Laura Priess, the 2017 recepient of the Terry Smith Award. The Terry Smith Award is bestowed on the outstanding an individual who has greatly contributed to the advancement of recreational ski racing. This award may only be received once.
Pacific Rim Alliance and 4 Seasons West were winners in their class for the Charity and Community Service Program. The intent of this award is
To encourage charity and community involvement in all our FWSA councils and clubs
To recognize a club or council for its outstanding financial and/or volunteer support to one or more charitable organizations
To show the ski world how much the FWSA encourages volunteerism and charity involvement
o show our Industry partners what a big and kind heart the members of FWSA have.
